Heart Disease & EECP in Europe

  April 2015 update
It's all still working! Even after 7 years since the last treatment I am lucky enough to lead a full life, very busy and active, and with no restrictions due to angina. I walk on average about 8000 paces a day, minimum 1100 (welded to the desk) up to 20,000 very occasionally. That is truly good fortune.

I am still on a full drug spectrum, almost identical to that prescribed 7 years ago, except that I have 10mg of statins per day, the minimum dose. I have added 2000IU of Vitamin D daily for the last year.  Blood chemistry is checked about every 18 months and appears reasonably stable. Memory loss, especially short-term, is now definitely worse, however.

For patients and professionals with an interest in coronary artery disease (CAD)and heart failure (CHF). External counterpulsation (EECP) has been a great help to many patients by reducing angina and other debilitating symptoms. Being comparatively inexpensive its use in Europe should be expanded to improve quality of life and reduce healthcare bills. Start from the bottom (oldest post) and work towards the top.
